Sanjay bags Muay Thai gold in Bangkok

KATHMANDU, March 21: Nepali Muay Thai player Sanjay Rai has bagged gold medal in the 14th Muay Thai Championship in Bangkok, Thailand on Tuesday.

KATHMANDU, March 21: Nepali Muay Thai player Sanjay Rai has bagged gold medal in the 14th Muay Thai Championship in Bangkok, Thailand on Tuesday.



According to Nepal Muay Thai Association's President Ganeshlal Kakshapati, Sanjay became champion in the men's 48 kg category defeating a Spanish opponent. 



Nepal also won one silver and two bronze medals in the competition that started from March 11. Anisha Khadka bagged silver in women's 67 kg while Dipak Tamang and Karuna Upreti won one bronze each in men's 57 kg and women's 54 kg respectively. 



Altogether six Nepali players along with players from 40 nations had taken part in the championship.



Meanwhile, two other Nepali players Ram Gopal Shah and Sasindra Ranjit didn't bag any medal in the competition.
