Sankhuwasabha massacre: One arrested

SANKHUWASABHA, Sept 11: A man from Madi-1 Umling Khola village has been arrested on the charge of involvement in the massacre of Tej Bahadur Karki’s family. According to DSP Laldhwaj Subedi, chief of the District Police Office, Sankhuwasabha, the arrested person is a relative of the Karki family.

SANKHUWASABHA, Sept 11: A man from Madi-1 Umling Khola village has been arrested on the charge of involvement in the massacre of Tej Bahadur Karki’s family. According to DSP Laldhwaj Subedi, chief of the District Police Office, Sankhuwasabha, the arrested person is a relative of the Karki family.


On September 6, a neighbor had found the dead bodies of Karki’s family members. The six deceased had been identified as 58-year-old Tej Bahadur Karki, his 80-year-old mother Parbata Karki, his 56-year-old wife Manmaya Karki, 28-year-old daughter-in-law Ranjana Karki, 10-year-old grandson Deepak Karki, and granddaughter Goma Karki aged five.

A team including the chief of police of Province 1, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Arun Kumar BC and the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police had reached the spot after the incident for investigation.


According to the District Police Office, a press conference will be held on Sunday and the name of the arrested person will be made public on the same day.
