SC denies interim order over nixing of envoy recommendations
“Why the government lodged the impeachment motion though it is clear that there is not any basis for the endorsement?” questioned Gyawali, and claimed that the interim order of the Supreme Court on Friday would be the safe-landing for the government as well. He urged everyone to resolve the ongoing clash between the Legislature-Parliament and the judiciary.
“The interim order of the Supreme Court has paved a way out for the government as well. The government should accept the order and should pull back the motion”, said Gyawali.
He criticized the role of Speaker Onsari Gharti and said, “The Speaker could not take the situation into consideration and tried to make the decision forcefully instead of taking initiation to elucidate the situation”. He, however, said that his party is not aggressive and bellicose.
Gyawali clarified that the CPN-UML is not in mood to demand the resignation of the Prime Minister as the party is fully focused on the upcoming the local level election. Similarly, he claimed that the date June 14, slated for the second phase election is appropriate and suggested to revise the date for either May 24, 25 or 26.
