KATHMANDU: Audition round for the fifth edition of Republica My City Presents En Vogue Fashion Show was held at the Ai-La Restaurant and Lounge, Kumaripati on Saturday.
Girls and boys, between the ages of 16 and 28 years, had come for the audition to become the next face of House of Fashion (HOF) Nepal. Those below 18 years of age need guardian’s permission to participate in the contest, informed HOF Event Director Sanjeeb Tuladhar. Male contestants should be above 5’6 in height and females should be at least 5’3 to be eligible to participate in the event.
Tuladhar added that the contestants must have positive attitude and confidence galore.
Getting visible in the workplace
One of the contestants, Rashu Shakya, shared that En Vogue would be the right platform to start her modeling career as her dream is to become a cover girl. Prashanna Rai, a professional photographer and contestant, said he wanted to showcase his talents in front of the camera through En Vogue.
Bhagya Kachhapati, who had previously attended a modeling workshop with HOF, said En Vogue was the apt platform to build a successful modeling career, and earn name as well as fame.
Parents, who attended the audition, were also excited about the event. Daan Kumari Gurung, mother of contestant Royisha Gurung, said she was there to support and encourage her daughter to pursue modeling and be the next face of HOF.
The selected contestants would go through a 40-day training session that includes different workshops and training sessions on personality development and confidence building. In between the training, they will also appear in an unmasking event, where the selected contestants would face the world and work on their flaws thereafter.
The three-month long event will end in October with a grand En Vogue fashion show. Winner of the contest will get a year-long contract to become the brand ambassador for HOF, Tuladhar informed.
A panel of six judges, including Lomash Dhamala, Manis Rai, Rubina Thapa, Priyanka Ranijoshi, Puran Joshi and Oshima Banu, interviewed the contestants on various parameters.
