KATHMANDU, Jan 10: Nepal national cricket team’s wicket-keeper batsman and Tribhuvan Army Club skipper Binod Bhandari smashed a breathtaking hundred against Karnali Province to secure a big win of 241 runs in day five of the ongoing Manmohan Memorial (MM) Cup in Inaruwa of Sunsari on Wednesday. The right-handed batsman Bhandari scored 103 runs from 65 deliveries to propel his team to a total of 314 runs in the 50 overs for the loss of all its wickets in the 47.2 overs. The skipper was supported by an in-form youngster Bhim Sarki who missed his century by four runs facing 110 deliveries. Bikram Sob and Hari Krishna Jha chipped with 35 and 40 runs respectively contributing to the total.Karnali province’s Yuvraj KC picked three wickets in his 10 overs conceding 51 runs supported by Chandra BC and Diwan Pun who shared two wickets each to control the damage. Chasing the total, Karnali was bundled out for mere 65 runs in 25.5 overs. Karnali batsman Nischal Mahat top scored with 27 runs from 39 deliveries. Army’s Kushal Malla picked four wickets supported by Shahab Alam’s three wickets to end the Karnali challenge quickly.
