KATHMANDU, Aug 24: Ranipokhari Corner Team (RCT) made it two out of two wins after a 2-1 victory over Khumaltar Youth Club in the Martyrs Memorial B Division League football tournament played on Wednesday at APF football ground in Halchowk, Kathmandu.
Pukar Ale Magar broke the deadlock late in the match as he scored the first goal in the 78th minute and Bidhur Rijal sealed the victory in the 90th minute.
However, Khumaltar pulled back a consolation goal in the stoppage time as Suraj Raut achieved the target.
The win puts RCT, one of the oldest and most successful clubs of Nepali football relegated to the second division three years ago, on top of the table with six points from two matches. Khumaltar is yet to open scoring in the points table following two defeated in a row.
In the late kickoff, New Road Team (NRT) and Madhyapur Youth Association (MYA) shared points after a 1-1 stalemate. Subarna Bikram Karki put MYA in front with a 53rd minute goal. Rakesh Gurung equalized for NRT in the stoppage time.
With the draw in the second match, both MYA and NRT are in second position with four points each. NRT holds upper hand over MYA by the virtue of better goal difference.
