KATHMANDU, March 5: Dharmendra Bastola, a senior leader belonging to Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplab’-led Nepal Communist Party (CPN), who was under police custody at District Police Office, Kavre, was released on Friday.
Bastola, who was arrested and facing various charges including arson, was released a day after the government lifted a ban on the CPN which went underground on March 12, 2019. Following his release, he arrived in Kathmandu.

Talks teams of both the sides--the government team led by Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa and CPN’s dialogue team led by Khadga Bahadur Bishwakarma ‘Prakanda’--reached a three-point agreement on Thursday morning.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has sent a circular to all its subordinate bodies to release all the leaders affiliated to the outfit following the government’s decision to lift the ban.
