Kathmandu, July 7: A charity screening of the film ‘Serdhak – The Golden Hill’ will be held at the Taragaon Museum in the Hyatt Regency, Bouddha. The show is jointly organized by Dhondup Charity and Heartbeat, an NGO working for the welfare of homeless children.

The film has had a successful run at major international film festivals and was awarded the ICIMOD ‘Best Mountain Film 2015’ at the Kathmandu International Film Festival (KIFF).
Directed by Rajan Kathet, the film depicts a coming of age story of a young man (Tsewang Rinzin Gurung) who returns to his village in the remotest area of Mustang with ideas to improve the lives of his villagers. But in the course, he gets himself surrounded by the harsh realities of his place and its people. The film has a runtime of one hour and thirteen minutes.
The money collected from the event will fund the activities of Heartbeat and Dhondup Charity.
The event will start at 5 pm at The Taragaon Museum, Hyatt Regency on Saturday, July 9. Tickets are priced at Rs 300.
