KATHMANDU, Jan 19: The final match of the Shiva Poudel Memorial International Cricket Tournament is set to be played at Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground. The summit clash between Capital College and Research Center (CCRC) and Heartland Academy will take place on January 29.

Though, all other matches were played at Birendra Multiple Campus (BMC) in Bharatpur, Chitwan, the final match has been shifted to the capital according to host Nepal Students Union (NSU)'s BMC chapter. According to the tournament coordinator Anil Adhikari, the final has been shifted to the TU ground due to poor pitch condition of BMC's ground. “As the final match will feature national players, we don't want to take risk about the potential injury given the upcoming matches of the national team. So we shifted the venue,” said Adhikari.

The T20 format tournament that kicked off on December 20 features 12 teams from different parts of the country. Before booking the place in the final, CCRC captained by Subash Pradhan, had overcome Nepal Polytechnic Institute of Chitwan in the last four. Similarly, Heartland captained by Shakti Bhandari had defeated BMC in the semifinal.

The winner of the tournament will bag a purse of Rs 268,902 while the runner-up will be given Rs 135,902. The player of the series will be given Rs 15000 while the best bowler and best batsman will be awarded Rs 5000 each. The cash prizes for the best bowler and batsman are sponsored by Nepali Cricket Supporters Society according to organizer.
