LAHAN, March 24: The Siraha District Court has ordered the remand of Free Madhesh Alliance Coordinator CK Raut for more 10 days and for the fifth time.

Raut was arrested from Janakpur on February 2 on the charge of an organized crime against the State when he had reportedly made a statement calling for splitting the Madhes region from Nepal and turning it into a separate country at Lahan of Siraha on January 18.

Police had registered a case against Raut for delivering speech with secessionist essence.

The Court had first remanded him for 10 days in judicial custody on February 3 for further investigation into the case, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) at the District Police Office, Siraha, Shekhar Koirala.

This is for the last time that the Court has ordered remand of Raut, shared SP Koirala.

Earlier, a case on treason against Raut was registered at the Special Court but he was later released on bail. RSS
