KATHMANDU, March 29: The Nepal government has promoted six Armed Police Force (APF) officials to the post of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) on Wednesday.
The government has promoted police officials Ganesh Bahadur Thada Magar, Abhi Kumar Khatri, Shambhu Subedi, Durga Prasad Bhattarai, Kamal Giri and Rajendra Shakya to the post of SSP today in line with the recommendation made on March 28.

Inspector General of Armed Police Force Singha Bahadur Shrestha conferred insignias on the promoted SSPs at a special function held at the APF headquarters Halchowk, Kathmandu.
On March 18, the Secretariat of the Promotion Committee under the Ministry of Home Affairs had recommended six police officials including Superintendent of Police (SP) Ganesh Thada Magar for the post of SSP in the APF in accordance with the Rule 39 (1) of the Armed Police Force Regulations, 2072 BS.
Assessed as competent, efficient and commanding police officer in the APF, Thada Magar had joined the Nepal Police as Inspector on June 17, 1999. He was promoted to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in the APF on June 1, 2001 and to the post of SP on July 11, 2007.
