Speaker Mahara praises Chinese effort on environment conservation

KATHMANDU, July 22: Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara has said that he has been very impressed with the success achieved by China in the technology sector and the environment conservation initiatives of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

KATHMANDU, July 22: Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara has said that he has been very impressed with the success achieved by China in the technology sector and the environment conservation initiatives of Chinese President Xi Jinping.


During a meeting with Chairperson of Chinese National People's Congress Environment Protection and Resources Conservation Committee, Shiao Cheng here Monday, Speaker Mahara said, "The policy forwarded by the Chinese President 'Blue sky, green ground and clean water' is very significant, and Nepal can also learn from it."

Stating that the technology adopted by China to control air pollution and garbage management would be very beneficial to Nepal, he expressed hope that China would provide such technical support to Nepal. Speaker Mahara shared about the formation of the Nepal-China parliamentary friendship group, which, he said would play an important role in exchanging the parliamentary and political experiences of both countries.


Similarly, the Committee Chair expressed willingness to learn the activities, legal management and practice carried out for the protection of natural resources and environmental conservation. Saying National People's Congress has also formed the China-Nepal friendship group, Chair Cheng said that the group would help collaborate between the two countries as well as make relations more friendly.
