KATHMANDU, June 25: Sri Lankan Lions saw off Afghanistan Bulls by 10 runs on Sunday to produce its second win in the ongoing Asian Club Premier League (ACPL).
In the match played at TU Cricket Ground, put to bat first after losing the toss, Lions made a total of 158 runs losing eight wickets. In reply, Bulls was bowled out for 148 runs in 19.1 overs.
Meanwhile Lions has now accumulated four points from four matches. Lions had kicked off the campaign with 53 runs win over Indian Stars while it lost its second match by 21 runs against Dubai Warriors. Likewise in the third match of the competition, Lions was beaten by Nepal Storm by one wicket.
Lions' Dinesh Nakrani scored highest 45 runs facing 39 balls while Akash Goutal stroked 43 runs off 37 balls. Rohit Siani was the pick of the Bulls' bowlers as he pocketed three wickets while he was supported by Pawan Yadav who claimed two wickets. Likewise, Deepak Bhati, Kulwinder Singh and Manish Mor took one wicket each.
Meanwhile, Bulls' openers Savan Pahariya and Gaurav Sharma scored 16 and 24 runs respectively. Unbeaten Rana Ul Hassan stroked 25 runs facing 14 balls while Anil Sharma and Mohd Faran contributed 21 runs each.
Lions' Nishan Samarakkody and Karan Walia claimed three wickets each while Utsav Chandra, Vaibhav Arora and Akash Goutal added one wicket each.
