KATHMANDU, Sept 19: Minister for Culture Tourism and Civil Aviation Jeevan Bahadur Shahi has said that the state should honour the first martyr Lakhan Thapa.

KATHMANDU, Sept 19: Minister for Culture Tourism and Civil Aviation Jeevan Bahadur Shahi has said that the state should honour the first martyr Lakhan Thapa. 


Speaking in an interaction organised by the First Martyr Lakhan Thapa Memorial Foundation here today in the capital, Minister Shahi assured to support the foundation.

Minister Shahi further said that the haphazard process of declaring martyr has devaluated the glory of genuine martyrs. 


Nepali Congress lawmaker Amar Sing Pun and CPN (Maoist Centre) lawmaker Keshari Gharti Magar opined for honouring the Martyr Thapa realizing his contribution for the freedom. 


On the occasion, foundation chair Rul Bahadur Ale Magar, historian Dinesh Panta among others had spoken out their views about the contribution of martyr Thapa. RSS
