DHARAN, Oct 15: Six people succumbed to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Sunsari in the past 24 hours.
Five COVID-19 patients died while undergoing treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) while another coronavirus patient died while staying isolated in Dharan Sub-metropolitan City -16.
Of the deceased, three were from Dharan, two from Tehrathum and one from Itahari.
Sunsari sees two more coronavirus-related deaths
According to Ashish Shrestha, assistant spokesperson for BPKIHS, two male coronavirus patients (aged 44 and 58) from Dharan-2 died on Wednesday night while receiving treatment at BPKIHS.
A 77-year-old woman from Itahari who tested positive for the virus on Wednesday died in course of treatment at BPKIHS on Wednesday itself.
A 31-year-old male coronavirus patient from Tehrathum also died at BPKIHS at 7:15 AM on Thursday. Another 49-year-old coronavirus patient from Tehrathum also succumbed to COVID-19 while receiving treatment at BPKIHS. On Wednesday night, he was referred to BPKIHS by District Hospital, Dhankuta, as his health further worsened. The man tested positive for the virus on Monday.
Likewise, a male patient from Dharan-16 died of the coronavirus while staying isolated at his home.
