KATHMANDU, Oct 28: Swastika Pradhan of Bhaktapur has bagged the title of Nepal’s Next Super Model - 2018, leaving behind several fledgling and commercial models in a contest held in Kathmandu on Friday.
The participants were judged on the basis of tasks given to them, according to a press statement from R and R Group, the organizer of the competition. The event was held at the premises of Nepal Academy, Kamaladi.
Apart from the title, Pradhan was also rewarded with a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and an opportunity to visit Thailand. She also won the titles of Best Photogenic and Best Catwalk.

Meanwhile, Suru Shrestha and Rihanna Baidhya stood first and second runners-up of the competition, respectively. Shrestha also bagged the title of Best Personality and got a chance to visit Pokhara, whereas Baidhya bagged the title of Popular Model.
Other smaller titles in the competition included Best Skin, Best Hair, Best Body, Stylist Model, Viewer’s Choice and so on.
The competition was choreographed and operated by RojinShakya. Photographer Raj Bhai Suwal, journalist Dabbu Chetri, fitness instructor Ujwal Krishna Shrestha and beautician Sulochhana Shrestha were in the jury.
Speaking at the event, President of R and R Group, Manju Shrestha said: “We have been hosting this competition for the past three years to produce new models in the industry.” She pledged to give opportunity to the model participants in other events organized by the group.
