Table tennis players selected for Asian Games

KATHMANDU, May 1: The All Nepal Table Tennis Association (ANTTA) on Monday finalized the players to participate in the 18th Asian Games to be held in Indonesia from August 18.

KATHMANDU, May 1: The All Nepal Table Tennis Association (ANTTA) on Monday finalized the players to participate in the 18th Asian Games to be held in Indonesia from August 18.


The ANTTA officials informed that three players each from both men’s and women’s categories have been selected for the games which will conclude on September 2. In a three-day selection rounds held at the National Table Tennis Training Center in Lainchaur, 14 players each from men’s and women’s categories participated in the selection process and six have come through it.

The matches were played in a round robin league format. All the selected players are from the departmental teams.  Nepal Police Club succeeded to get the most (three) players selected for the Asian Games. The selected Police players are Santoo Shrestha, Deep Saun in men’s category and Nabita Shrestha in women’s group. Two women players from Tribhuvan Army Club are selected for the international games.


They are Swekshya Nemwang and Rabina Maharjan. Armed Police Club has a lone representative in Amar Lal Malla in men’s category. In men’s category played in the league process, Santoo Shrestha, Saun and Malla secured the top three places, and Nabita Shrestha, Nemwang and Maharjan became the top three in women’s category.
