Tamang siblings into mixed doubles final

KATHMANDU, Oct 20: Nepali badminton players Ratna Jit Tamang and Nangsal Devi Tamang have advanced to the final in the mixed doubles event of the ongoing Yonex Sunrise Pakistan International Badminton Series in Islamabad on Thursday.

KATHMANDU, Oct 20: Nepali badminton players Ratna Jit Tamang and Nangsal Devi Tamang have advanced to the final in the mixed doubles event of the ongoing Yonex Sunrise Pakistan International Badminton Series in Islamabad on Thursday. 



The Tamang siblings defeated the pair of Pakistani players Rijwan Ajam and Sara Mohamad in straight sets of 21-16, 21-12 according to Nepal Badminton Association's General Secretary Birendra Shrestha. With the victory, the duo have confirmed at least silver medal in the tournament. They will now face Pakistani pair of Mohamad Irfan Said Bhatti and

Mehmona Amin in the final to be held on Friday, according to Shrestha.



Meanwhile, Nangsal faced defeat in the semifinal match of the women's singles event. She was defeated by Pakistani opponent Palwasha Bashir 16-21, 12-21.
