Tara, Yeti airlines to remain grounded on Friday

KATHMANDU, Feb 28: All the flights belonging to Yeti and Tara airlines scheduled for Friday have been canceled.


The company had decided to halt all the flights in tribute to Managing Director at Yeti Airlines Ang Chhiring Sherpa.

Seven people including Tourism Minister Rabindra Adhikari had died in a chopper crash near Pathibhara in Taplejung district while they were flying back to Kathmandu after offering pooja at the temple on Wednesday afternoon.


Birendra Shrestha, Deputy Director General at Civil Aviation Authority Nepal (CAAN), under-secretary Yubaraj Dahal, Chairman of Yeti Airlines Ang Chhirng Sherpa, Regional Director of CAAN Dhruba Das Bhochhibhoya, pilot Prabhakar KC and bodyguard of Minister Adhikari Arjun Ghimire died in the crash.


The inconvenience caused by the halt of flights is highly regretted, said a press release issued by the company.
