KATHMANDU, Oct 19: Temporary school teachers who have been long demanding permanent status through internal competition continued their capital-based protests for the second day today.
The Temporary Teachers' Struggle committee staged a sit-in in front of the Prime Minister's official residence, Baluwatar, demanding that temporary teachers should be allowed to sit for internal competition for permanent posts and those failing to get permanency through that process should be bidden farewell with monetary benefits.

Committee president Nirendra Kunwar stressed the need of revising the Education Act (eighth amendment) as according to him it has failed to address the demands of temporary teachers.
