LONDON, Aug 22: Tenisha Rana has won the coveted crown of Miss UK Nepal-2016.
Rana left behind eight other participants to win the title at a competition held at Empire Banqueting Hall, Aldershot on Sunday.
Born in Pokhara, Rana has been staying in the UK since 2006 and is currently studying medicines at Queen Mary University, London.
After winning the illustrious award, Rana said that she will be engaged in philanthropy works to help mankind.
Prashansa Limbu and Bivia Shrestha were declared first runner-up and second runner-up respectively at the 5th edition of the beauty pageant that was organized by Events and Ideas.
Actress Priyanka Karki, who is in London since two weeks, was the main choreographer and trainer of the competition.
Inaugurating the competition, Acting Ambassador of Nepal to UK, Sharad Raj Aran said the competition was organized to recognize and appreciate the new generations and wished for the success of the program.
Europe Coordinator of the Non-Resident Nepalese Association (NRNA) Kul Acharya said that the participants can play a significant role in campaign of the association.
He further requested the participants to come up with their suggestions for the campaign.
Chairman of NRNA UK, Muchetra Gurung and Coordinator of the program, Shanti Gurung among others wished for the success of the program.
As many as 500 audiences were entertained by singers Shreya Sotang and Dharmendra Sewan along with RK Square band with their performances.
Artists Anita Limbu, Risma Gurung, Sagar and Kajol, Jeevan Pun among others performed dance at the function.
