Last Friday Bar and Grill, Lazimpat
Last Friday at Lazimpat serves different kinds of cuisines such as Indian, Nepali, and Chinese along with other popular dishes like pizzas and pastas. So you will definitely be spoilt for choice. There is also a beautifully decorated bar where you can enjoy all sorts of beverages. This weekend, to bring in the Christmas vibes, it even has a few live performances lined up. The band Azima will be playing on December 24 and The Generation will be live on Christmas. The shows will last from six in the evening till midnight. Then there’s more for New Years. You can enjoy music by the The Reloaded on New Year’s Eve and Azima again on January 1. With a total seat capacity of 350+ people, it can be one of the perfect places in town for a much happening Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Brezel Café and Bar, J.P Street, Thamel
It will be an unforgettable Christmas Eve at Brezel Café. The festivities are going to take an exciting turn with live music and other fun programs. The very first performance will be by Picks band that will last till eight in the evening. The Bullet Flo and Prince will then take the stage for the next two and half hours. And after that, the actual party will begin with DJ Thaman. Other than the musical extravaganza, you can also do a quick photo-shoot with Santa and also stand to win one of the many gift hampers throughout the night. For foodies, there’s a special turkey dinner and many more Christmas delights. The entrance fee is just Rs 500.
Wicked Spoon, Fork, and Rock, Jhamsikhel

Stop by the Wicked Spoon, Fork, and Rock this Sunday night and not only will you get to enjoy some really good food and drinks, but you can also listen to music by the very popular band, The Alchemist. On Christmas, there is a special performance by the band, The Thrive. The good thing about all this is that it’s a completely free event and you don’t need to buy tickets for it. As for the money you’ll be paying for the food and drinks, we can vouch for the fact that it will be worth it as everything here is simply delicious. Yes, even the cocktails.
Octave Restaurant, Durbar Marg
This Christmas Eve head to the Octave Restaurant for a fabulous fashion show organized by Sabin Karki. You will get to watch top models like Muna Gauchan, Neha Banu, Soni Shrestha, and Jasmine Gurung gracing the ramp with designer wears. The event will start at seven in the evening and will be accompanied by a live DJ session by DJ Finzok. The entry is free for ladies whereas the men will have to pay Rs 1500 but they will receive a free bill voucher for that amount which they can use to buy food and drinks during the show.
Tamarind Restro & Bar, Jhamsikhel
amarind is a spacious place famous for the salsa performances it usually hosts. And it gets even better this Christmas Eve. From seven in the evening to two in the morning, there will be live performances by Dharmendra Sewan and his team. Alongside the fabulous entertainment, you will also be served world-class cuisines including Chinese, Thai, and Japanese delights. You can also order food that’s not in the menu but you will have to notify them in advance for that.
Ai-La Lounge and Restaurant, Kumaripati
Make the most of your Christmas and New Year celebrations with live music and a 360-degree view of Kathmandu valley at Ai-La. It can be a perfect venue for food and drinks, with its expansive menu offering all types of beverages, barbeques, seafood, and cuisines like Chinese, Nepalis, Indian, and Italian. Vegetarians will also have enough options at Ai-La. You can enjoy the food here to soothing performances by Chhewang Lama followed by the local band Pasapi from seven in the evening to eleven at night. After that, you can dance the night away as the DJ plays his best mix. On Christmas, there will be performances by different local bands and you can ring in the New Year with the band Mt. 8848 whereas Prayas will be playing on January 1.
Cocina Mitho Cha, Lazimpat
In collaboration with Pataleban Vineyard Winery, Cocina Mitho Cha will be organizing Wine Tasting Festival this Christmas Eve. You will get to sample many varieties of Nepali flavored wines for free. However, for additional drink orders you will be charged Rs 400 per glass for Nepali Wine while Everest beer will cost you Rs 250. The event will be accompanied by campfire and garden barbeque that comes at a price of Rs 1000 for chicken or veg barbeque set. The veg barbecue set has brown and white bread, green and black olives, organic green salad, roasted potatoes, and mozzarella and tomato salad with pesto. There’s also pumpkin cake for dessert.
The HUT Lounge & Bar, Satdobato
The band Jung Trio is scheduled to perform here from 6:30 pm onwards till the midnight on Christmas Eve. There’s a buy two get one free offer in all drinks and a free plate of French fries with three bottles of Carlsberg beer at The Hut this festive season which is one of the many enticing reasons to head to this fun and happening place this Christmas Eve. You will also be surprised with other interesting offers so The Hut seems like the right place to be this Christmas.
Fairfield by Marriott Kathmandu, Tridevi Marg
On December 24, Fairfield by Marriott will be hosting a special Christmas night starting from seven in the evening. The entry fee for one is a little steep at Rs 3000 but then there’s a complimentary drink and a special buffet dinner included in that price so it actually is a more than fair deal. For couples though, the price is just Rs 5000. The local band Fill In will be the main attraction of the night.
Full Moon Café and Rockers Magic, Thamel
There’s both a café and a pub in the same building here so you can enjoy soothing acoustic music at the café or sway to rock music at the pub. While the band Beat Break will be performing at the café, at Rockers Magic the band Gone and Elvis will be playing some rock tunes. Both the performances will start at seven and go on till midnight. At the stroke of midnight, three DJs will take over and you can dance away till the wee hours in the morning. Full Moon Café will also be offering exciting gift vouchers throughout the night. The entry to Full Moon is free but you have to pay Rs 700 to gain access to Rockers Magic. This entrance fee comes with a free bottle of beer. However, it looks like it’s going to be a busy night, so call for reservations beforehand.
REEF Restaurant & Lounge Bar, Thamel
With spacious seating arrangements, Christmas special decorations, all kinds of alcoholic and non- alcoholic beverages, multi-cuisines and a live performance by Dexterous followed by a mix of DJs, REEF effortlessly brings together all the factors that make a perfect Christmas Eve. All this comes at a nominal fee of Rs 1000. The performances will begin at seven in the evening and will last until midnight. On Christmas though the entry price drops down to Rs 500 and the band Sab Saath will be there to get your moving to some really good tunes.
