Closed camp for Solidarity Cup begins
A total of 36 players, four each from nine regions, associated with the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) were picked in the preliminary stage on November 17 through ‘talent hunt’ organized by Sushil Koirala Memorial Foundation and then regional selection process.
Later, the selection committee had picked nine more players for the first session of closed training camps which started from November 23.
The 22 youth players will train at the Tribhuvan University (TU) International Cricket Ground till December 8 before leaving for Thailand the next day.
Sushil Koirala Memorial Foundation is bearing all the expense of the selection and training camp, from regional to national level, of the youth team as CAN is dwelling in crisis after Nepal’s only cricket governing body’s membership was suspended by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on April 25 after an intervention by Nepal Sports Council (NSC).
