Turkey lifts ban on US flights

KATHMANDU, July 20: Turkish Airlines has said that carriers flying into United States from Turkey or via third country has resumed from Tuesday.



Issuing a statement, the national flag carrier of Turkey said that the ban on direct or indirect flights to US from Turkey has been lifted and flights have started as normal.



All scheduled Turkish Airlines flights to the US resumed on July 19 with Turkish Airlines Istanbul -- NYC flight taking off at 06:45 am, according to the statement. 



Following failed coup attempt in Turkey on July 16, the ban was imposed on all airline carriers, regardless of country of registry, flying into the United States from Turkey either directly or via third country.
