JHAPA, April 26: Two persons died in separate incidents in Jhapa in the past 24 hours. Umesh Hingmang, 40, of Nagi-6, Panchthar and currently living at Kankai municipality-1 was severely injured after a government vehicle hit his bicycle at Durgapur of Kankai-1 along the East-West Highway.

Later, he breathed his last in course of treatment at the Biratamod-based B&C Hospital, police confirmed. Following the accident happened last night, police have arrested the vehicle belonging to the District Administration Office, Jhapa, along with the driver.
Similarly, Bhim Rajbanshi, 32, of Bhadrapur municipality-6 died from a lightning strike. The lightning struck him at around 2:30 am today and he died on the way to the Bhadrapur-based hospital, the Ward Police Office Bhadrapur confirmed.
