Two killed, two injured in separate road accidents

CHITWAN, Aug 24: Two persons died and two others got injured in separate road accidents in Chitwan and Kathmandu today.

CHITWAN, Aug 24: Two persons died and two others got injured in separate road accidents in Chitwan and Kathmandu today. 


A truck (Na 6 Kha 3425) ,coming to Central Bus Terminal from Aaptari at Bharatpur in Chitwan district, knocked down a motorcycle (Na 3 Pa 7239) at Ganeshsthan Chowk in Chitwan district. 

Of the three riding on the motorcycle, one died on the spot while two others sustained injuries. 

Police identified the deceased as Aasha Maya Thapa, 42, of Bharatpur Municipality-11 who was a pillion rider.

According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, 46-year-old motorcyclist Man Bahadur Thapa, is critically hurt in the incident and is receiving treatment at the College of Medical Sciences, Bharatpur. 

Similarly, another injured pillion rider, Sanu Maya Budhathoki, 45, is also receiving treatment at the same hospital, police said. 


Police have impounded both-truck and motorcycle. 


Meanwhile, a pedestrian hit by motorcycle in front of Old Bus Park in the capital city today died during his treatment at Bir Hospital. 


The motorcycle (Ba 83 Pa 5787) rammed Hari Thapa, 45, of Shankharapur Municipality-9 in Kathmandu district. 


Motorcyclist Yogendra Tamang, 28, of Changu Narayan Municipality is receiving treatment at Trauma Centre, Bir Hospital, according to Police Inspector at the Metropolitan Police Circle, Durbar Marg, Sunil Jung Shah. RSS
