Nima Dom's husband Chhiring Wangchhu had died in the avalanche on the Everest five years back, while Phurdiki's husband Mingmar perished into the crevice while setting up steps to climb up the Everest six years back. Since then, Nima and Phurdiki made resolution to restore happiness by scaling the Everest.

They shared that their feat would give a message that single women need to restore happiness and revitalize life out of disappointment and loneliness. They have also planned to assist the women in their community who lost their husbands in the Everest region.

They said that they scaled the Mt Everest with an objective of bringing single women into the adventurous journey by imparting different skills to them. Many women, as they said, have limited themselves within the family and are mourning the death of their husbands.

The summiteers are also planning to establish an organisation by bringing together the women, who lost their spouses on the Everest.

Meanwhile, a total of five mountaineers have lost their lives till today with the beginning of this season. Among those losing lives, maximum are the Indian nationals. They died in course of descending the summit, added Contact Officer Shrestha.
