With PM Dahal refusing to step down, the UML is now preparing to withdraw its backing.
"If he chooses to follow the process, we will withdraw our support today, and our ministers will resign," said UML Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula, emphasizing that the PM lacks sufficient numbers to maintain his government.
A decision on withdrawing the support to the government and the resignation of UML ministers is expected after 3 PM today.
This move follows an agreement between Nepali Congress and the UML on Monday to form a new coalition, with UML Chairman KP Oli set to become the prime minister.
