UML – RPP alliance in the lead

BENI, May 15: The vote counting of the polling stations at Bhanu Secondary School and Ram Chandra Secondary School in Banepa – 1 of Beni Municipality has commenced.



Of the total of 400 votes counted till now, the candidate from the CPN (UML) and RPP coalition is leading with 205 votes while Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Centre) candidate is trailing behind with 152 votes, Chief Election Official's Office stated.



Election Official, Ram Prasad Sharma, said the results will be made public once the vote counting completes in all the wards. The ballots cast at Banepa – 1 and Ratnechaur were counted at a single location.



A code of conduct has also been formulated in agreement among the representatives of the political parties before kick starting the vote counting. The vote counting will start in the wards soon after vote counting is held in Banepa – 1.



Of the total of 18, 345 voters in Beni Municipality, 13, 128 votes were cast. Meanwhile, vote counting in all the five village councils will start from today at 10 am. RSS
