UML voters reject electoral alliance with RPP, more votes for UML without deputy mayoral candidate

LALITPUR, May 15: UML voters have rejected an alliance with Rastriya Prajantra Party(RPP)  by casting votes in favor of their party which did not field deputy mayoral candidate following an electoral alliance was forged in some wards  between CPN-UML and RPP.

LALITPUR, May 15: UML voters have rejected an alliance with Rastriya Prajantra Party(RPP)  by casting votes in favor of their party which did not field deputy mayoral candidate following an electoral alliance was forged in some wards  between CPN-UML and RPP.


RPP had agreed to vote for UML mayoral candidate Hari Krishna Byanjankar  and UML had agreed to vote for RPP deputy mayoral candidate Babulal Pradhan.

Following the agreement on the electoral alliance with RPP, CPN-UML had not fielded deputy mayoral candidate.


However, according to the latest vote counting, the number of persons who voted for CPN-UML without its own deputy mayoral candidate outnumbers the number of persons who voted for RPP deputy mayoral candidate Pradhan.


According to the latest vote counting,  116 persons  voted for UML and only 63 persons voted for Pradhan.
