KATHMANDU, June 2: Main opposition CPN-UML leader Shankar Pokharel said that his party is making preparations to field Bamdev Gautam as a candidate for the prime ministerial election.
Speaking at an interaction organized by Reporters Club Nepal on Friday, Pokharel said if the Nepali Congress-CPN (Maoist Center) alliance fielded Sher Bahadur Deuba, UML would field Gautam.
UML likely to field Nembang as PM candidate
“We will field Bamdev Gautam for the prime ministerial election. He has a great prospect of being nominated as the prime minister’s candidate from our party,” said Pokharel.
He further said NC President Deuba is impatient to grab the prime minister’s post which resulted in the resignation of Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s in an unsuitable time.
“UML will support anyone as the prime minister’s candidate if NC-Maoist Center alliance fields him/her other than Deuba,” said Pokharel.
