DHANGADI, Feb 11: Bhagarathi Bhatta, 17, from Chadepani of Dogadakedar Rural Municipality-7, was raped and murdered last Wednesday. Her dead body was found the next day some 50 meters below the road in a community jungle. Even a week after the tragedy, the police have not been able to identify those involved in the crime.

Likewise, family of the victim has denied receiving the dead body unless they see those involved in raping and murdering their daughter put behind bars. The dead body is currently at the District Hospital of Baitadi.

Special teams of Nepal Police and  Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) have been deployed to investigate the case. Delay and incompetency within Nepal Police and CBI have raised doubts among the public of justice to the victim and the family.
