Vehicular movement resumes in Dumkibas

KATHMANDU, Dec 11: Police have dispersed demonstrators and resumed vehicular movement along the East-West Highway in the Dumkibas area in Nawalparasi (East).

KATHMANDU, Dec 11: Police have dispersed demonstrators and resumed vehicular movement along the East-West Highway in the Dumkibas area in Nawalparasi (East). 


Earlier today, locals protested on the highway, forcing vehicles to stop over the death of tractor driver Hari Shyam Yadav. Police said that the situation there has returned to normalcy and the vehicles have moved to their destinations.

The locals also protested in front of the police office in Dumkibas claiming that the 24-year-old tractor driver was beaten to death by police personnel.


However, police said that tractor driver Yadav of Rajpur Rural Municipality-4 from Dang district died after his tractor (Lu 3 Ta 8175) met with an accident near Binayikhola in Binayi Triveni-2.


The local people have asked the administration to probe Yadav’s death.
