Victory for Nepal Storm, Afghanistan Bullls

KATHMANDU, June 26: Nepal Storm and Afghanistan Bulls emerged victorious in the ongoing Asian Club Premier League (ACPL) on Monday defeating Indian Stars and Dubai Warriors respectively with identical four wickets.

KATHMANDU, June 26: Nepal Storm and Afghanistan Bulls emerged victorious in the ongoing Asian Club Premier League (ACPL) on Monday defeating Indian Stars and Dubai Warriors respectively with identical four wickets. 



Meanwhile it was the third win for the table topper Storm while victory over Warriors took Bulls in the third place in the six-team tournament. 



In the first match of the day played at TU Cricket Ground, put into bat first after losing the toss, Stars made a total of 172 runs losing three wickets in allotted 20 overs. In reply, Storm met the target in 16.2 overs losing six wickets. 



 Stars' Amar Karanwal scored highest 59 runs off 41 balls while unbeaten Simrat Bawa contributed 37 runs facing 29 balls. Gaurav Barabade pocketed two wickets for the winning side Storm while Amar Singh Routela added another. 



Likewise, Jitender Sharma stroked unbeaten 57 runs off 24 balls while Paresh Lohani and Vineet Dhyani contributed 26 and 24 runs respectively for Storm. Amandeep Singh and Sachin Kumar pocketed two wickets each while Amar Karanwal added another. 



In the second match of the day, Warriors which won the toss and opted to bat made a total of 161 runs losing six wickets. In reply, the winning side Bulls reached the target in 19.5 overs losing six wickets. 



Although two batsmen including skipper Abdul Shakoor (50) and Dawood Ejaz (66) stroked half-centuries, Warriors couldn't prevent defeat. Pawan Yadav pocketed three wickets for Bulls while Rana Ul-Hassan and Manish Mor added one wicket each. 



Likewise, Bulls' Mohd Faran scored 43 runs while Parwinder Manhera contributed 37 runs. Ali Malik pocketed two wickets for Warriors.
