KATHMANDU, March 31: Nepal's atmosphere currently blanketed with thick smog is likely to stay here for a few more days.

Meteorologist Samir Shrestha said the monsoon system should develop with either the occurrence of heavy rainfall or gusty wind for the haze to clear out. "There is no possibility of such a system developing in the coming two or three days," he said.

Meteorologists and Environmentalists maintain that the current weather situation is the result of numerous wildfires in various parts of the country.
