KATHMANDU, July 13: With 144 new cases of coronavirus recorded in the past 24 hours, Nepal's COVID-19 tally has climbed to 16,945.
At a virtual media briefing, Jageshwar Gautam, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population said that 144 new cases were detected during tests conducted at various 25 laboratories across the country in the past 24 hours.
There are currently 6,631 active cases of coronavirus across the country, according to Gautam.

A total of 10,294 coronavirus patients were discharged after recovery as of today, the spokesperson said.
"In the past 24 hours alone, 1705 coronavirus patients returned home from hospitals after recovery," Gautam said.
"Of the total coronavirus patients, 60% have been discharged after recovery," he said. The country's COVID-19 death toll stands at 38 with three more deaths on Saturday.
He also said that the government has expedited the process for collecting throat swabs from various parts of the country.
