HETAUDA, May 24: A tough competition is seen among mayoral candidates from CPN-UML and Nepali Congress in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City as vote count comes almost to an end.
UML mayor candidate Hari Bahadur Mahat has so far received 21959 votes, which is 567 votes more than the votes received by Nepali Congress candidate Aananda Parajuli. Parajuli has garnered 21392 votes so far.
UML leads Maoist Center with 396 votes in Bharatpur Metropolis
According the sources at the office of returning officer in Hetauda, around 2000 votes from ward number 11 are yet to be counted.
In deputy-mayor contest, UML's Meena Lama is far ahead of CPN (Maoist Center) candidate Balaram Bal. Lama has received 21932 votes so far while her nearest rival Bal is at 16133 votes.
