RAMECHHAP, March 20: A 25 years old woman of Khandadevi Rural Municipality-6 of Ramechhap has been accused of killing her two children on Sunday by setting them on fire.

After getting informed about the dreadful incident, police from the Area Police Office (APO), Choprang, immediately reached the site and arrested Tara, according to Raj Kumar Thapa, Inspector at the District Police Office, Ramechap. The dead bodies of both the children have been taken to the district headquarters for postmortems.
As per the preliminary investigation by the police, three years ago, Tara's husband Dil Bahadur Khatri had brought a second wife after which the two were sharing a cold relationship. They often had disputes and quarrels. Dil Bahadur had kept his wives in two different cottages built within a distance of 300 meters.
As stated by the police officers, Tara was mentally disturbed after her husband's second marriage and also started behaving insanely since then.
Police officials claim that her mental disorder is what led to the heinous incident. She was not happy that her husband was living with her second wife and two children by neglecting her and her children family. On Sunday, Dil Bahadur had gone to his second wive's cottage after his two children from his first wife slept at around 9 pm.
As there are no houses near the cottage, the neighbors knew about the fire only after the cottage was half burnt and the children were burnt to death. Police have brought both Dil Bahadur and Tara to Manthali for further investigation.
