KATHMANDU, Nov 21: A five-day workshop, aiming to enhance capacity of the cultural experts for preservation and transmission of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH), has started in the capital from today.
Cultural expert Satyamohan Joshi inaugurated the training jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and International Training Center for the Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region (CRIHAP).
A total of 35 representatives from both governmental and non-governmental agencies are taking part in the event where they will be involved in the knowledge and skills sharing for the formulation of community-based method for preservation of ICH, shared Joint-Secretary at the Ministry Bharat Mani Subedi.
Lamenting over the lack of documentation of the ICH in Nepal, cultural expert Joshi pressed for creation of literary items on ICH for its preservation.
On the occasion, Jing Zhang, Deputy Director-General of CRIHAP, Christian Manhart, Head of Office and UNSECO Representative and Subha Chaudhary, International Resource Person for ICH pledged their full cooperation for ICH preservation efforts in Nepal. RSS
