KATHMANDU, Jan 30: The Nepal Embassy in Kuwait has rescued as many as 20 workers from Sulebiya Project of Kharif National Company and repatriated them.
The company had not renewed their visa for a long time and not paid any salary.
Seven stranded workers rescued from Kuwait
Issuing a press statement, the embassy stated that it rescued 17 workers whose visa had expired long ago and sent them home by completing the immigration process. Similarly, with financial support from Sindhupalchowk Sewa Samaj, Dailt Ekata Sanjal, Lumbini Samaj and Kalyankari Yuwa Samaj, the embassy sent home two more workers who were facing similar problems in Kuwait. Likewise, the statement said the embassy itself made arrangement for the repatriation of one more worker.
After a group of Nepali workers registered an application for rescue of stranded workers, the embassy had taken the initiative to repatriate them. The embassy has stated that the embassy is working with the local authorities in the country to repatriate many other Nepali workers stranded in the Gulf Emirate.
