KATHMANDU, Sept 24: The Supreme Court (SC) has sought a written response regarding the reasons why the election of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) could not be held on the scheduled date.

A single bench of Justice Kumar Regmi has ordered that a written response be submitted within 15 days after the preliminary hearing on Monday.

Dhrub Prasad Chaulagain filed a writ petition against the FNJ, requesting an interim order to conduct the election within six months.


The writ petition requested the court that, since the current executive committee was unable to conduct the election on the scheduled date, an alternative solution must be provided.
