Nepal won the first set but India bounced back to win the second set. The same thing repeated as Nepal won the third set and India made a comeback to win the fourth set. As a result, the outcome of the match was decided in the fifth set.
Nepal showed a poor performance in the fifth set and lost 15-5 to India, whom the hosts had defeated in the league round. With the defeat, Nepal’s desire to win the title was dashed.
Earlier, in the final match of the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) organized in Nepal in 2019, India had defeated Nepal in the women’s category of volleyball in a five-set thriller by the same margin.
