Do you feel bloated all the time? Do you buy clothes to camouflage your bulging tummy? And do you fear that your flat tummy days are way behind you? Well, let's accept it; a lot of us obsess over flat tummy, the biggest reason being that it is the most notorious part to shed weight. And it is also the part which unabashedly displays any amount of weight gain.

What if we told you that you could have a flat tummy in the next 7 days if you follow the rules we mention below? Sounds unbelievable? It isn't really. You can indeed have a flat tummy in 7 days.

Here is the flat tummy plan:

Step 1: Drink up!

When we say drink up, don't assume that you are free to guzzle down fizzy and alcoholic drinks. These two are exactly the drinks you have to stay away from. Instead, drink a lot of water. It's the best way to detox and helps reduce water retention. That's not it, it also helps move nutrients to your muscles to keep your metabolism going. Try adding lemon, mint and cucumber slices to prepare the most efficient detox water for flat tummy.

Next, ditch your coffees and teas and move to green tea or chamomile tea. They help burn fat and if taken before a workout, the caffeine in it can help you get better results.

Also, add ginger to your green tea or make ginger tea to help ease your GI tract, which will in turn reduce bloating.

Step 2: Workout

Abstain from isolation workouts if you want a flat tummy but do compound workouts. Circuit training at least three times a week will give you a good push. Here's an example: Do push-ups, mountain climbing and squats and follow it up with one minute of continuous jumping. Next repeat the set again. This will help you burn a lot of calories. Next three days, focus on exercising your abdominal muscles. Do variations of crunches and leg raises followed by planks in a push-up position. Hold as long as you can. Repeat the set again.

Step 3: Cut down sodium

While sodium is important for your body but excess can play havoc with your system and give you a bloated belly. So avoid salt. Worried it will leave your food tasteless? Well, don't be. Add lots of herbs and spices to your food and you may think about quitting salt altogether. You will be able to feel the difference within two days.

Also stay away from high-fibre food items that can cause bloating such as broccoli, sprouts and cauliflower for a week. Also, evenly space out your veggies and fruits consumption so your tummy doesn't feel the pressure.

Step 4: Beat stress

You may be eating right and exercising too but unless you keep your stress levels under check, it will be very difficult for you to get a flat tummy. Stress releases cortisol hormone in your body, which is responsible for weight gain in the tummy area.

Step 5: Breathe well and work on your posture

Here is a trick of flat tummy that has worked for many, especially with those with a sedentary lifestyle. Here it is: Suck in your tummy when you sit and keep breathing normally. Hold the position for as long as you can. Repeat multiple times during the day.
