CPN (MC) accuses UML for Bharatpur incident: demands re-election

CHITWAN, May 29: CPN (Maoist Center) has accused the CPN-UML for the incident in Bharatpur on Sunday midnight during the vote counting.

CHITWAN, May 29: CPN (Maoist Center) has accused the CPN-UML for the incident in Bharatpur on Sunday midnight during the vote counting.


Issuing a press statement on Monday, the party blamed CPN-UML for tearing the ballot papers during the counting. The party has demanded the local administration to release two cadres immediately. They were representing the party for the counting procedures.

“Representatives from CPN-UML Krishna Raj Neupane, Ganesh Lama, Ashwin Ghimire and Prakash Dhungana among others seized the ballot box and started to tear the ballot papers, for which our representatives Dron Babu Shiwakoti and Madhu Neupane protested. During the scuffle few ballot papers were torn down”, reads the statement issued by party in-charge Ishwori Bhattarai.


The statement further mentioned that CPN-UML manipulated the facts and issued a wrong statement. The party has urged the Election Commission for the re-election in the area.
