Dr. Dhital nominated for ‘Pride for Australia’ award

KATHMANDU, Oct 1: Dr Kumud Dhital, who has proved himself to be successful in transplanting a heart of a deceased’s person into another person, has been nominated for prestigious ‘Pride of Australia’ award.

KATHMANDU, Oct 1: Dr Kumud Dhital, who has proved himself to be successful in transplanting a heart of a deceased’s person into another person, has been nominated for prestigious ‘Pride of Australia’ award.


Assistant Professor at a University in Australia, Dr. Dhital, took out a heart from a dead person and activated and transplanted it into another person successfully. It was the first of its kind.

Dhital has been nominated for the award to honor his achievement made in the efforts of saving human life, reported the Telegraph.


Earlier, only palpating heart of a person with brain hemorrhage could be transplanted in a person. Dhital developed a system by which a heart of dead person can be transplanted into another person.


It has learnt that Dhital successfully transplanted hearts in as many as 27 people so far through this technology.
