Federal parliamentarians to be sworn in on March 4

KATHMANDU, Feb 21: The swearing in ceremony of federal parliamentarians has been scheduled for March 4, the Secretariat Federal Parliament said. The following day, President Bidya Devi Bhandari has called the first session of the federal parliamentarians at 4 PM in International Conference Center, New Baneshwor.

KATHMANDU, Feb 21: The swearing in ceremony of federal parliamentarians has been scheduled for March 4, the Secretariat Federal Parliament said. The following day, President Bidya Devi Bhandari has called the first session of the federal parliamentarians at 4 PM in International Conference Center, New Baneshwor.


The Secretariat has called senior members for the swearing in ceremony by wearing the national dress or one that reflects cultural identity. It also has urged parliamentarians to bring their House of Representatives and National Assembly member certificate issued by the Election Commission.

With repeated debate over language, the Secretariat has said, “a parliamentarian can take the oath in their mother tongue. However, to do so, the oath must be translated and submitted to the Parliament’s General Secretary three days before the swearing in ceremony.”
