KATHMANDU, Jan 5: The government is preparing to operate the train with Nepali national flag which remains covered for the last 15 months. The train was procured to operate it on the Janakpur-Jayanagar route.
The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport (MoPIT) has said that final preparations have been made for the operation of the 34 km train service from Jayanagar in India to Kurtha in Dhanusha.

The ministry has stated that the date for the inauguration of the railway service will be fixed during the upcoming India visit of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Renu kumari Yadav said that all preparations have been made to bring the train into operation very soon.
Secretary at the MoPIT, Engineer Rabindra Nath Shrestha, also said that all preparations have been completed for the operation of the train on the Janakpur-Jayanagar route and Nepal has been waiting for the inauguration date from the Indian side.
Stating that Nepal is a member of the International Maritime Organization, Secretary Shrestha said that the ministry has formed a committee to study many of its treaties.
