KATHMANDU, July 27: KIKUTA Yutaka, Ambassador of Japan to Nepal, paid a courtesy call on Bidhya Bhattarai, Minister for Education, Science and Technology of Nepal on Friday. The envoy was accompanied by the Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) members including its Vice President.
On this occasion, Ambassador Kikuta expressed his congratulatory wishes to Bhattarai on her assumption of the post of education minister.

Ambassador Kikuta emphasized that educational exchange is one of the important pillars that support the friendship between Japan and Nepal. As one of the examples, the Ambassador introduced APU, a unique university of Japan where half of the students are international students including Nepali.
Okamura Yoshifumi, the Vice President of APU, informed that graduates are now establishing the Nepal Chapter of the APU Alumni Association to strengthen their ties.
Ambassador Kikuta and Minister Bhattarai shared their expectations for enhancing exchange through education between the two countries and for those who have studied in Japan and returned to Nepal to contribute to Nepal's further development.
