Japanese national donates huge sum for remote ECDC building

RAMPUR (Palpa), March 3: An Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) building has been constructed at Tham village of Sahalkot VDC – 8 which is located in one of the remotest parts of the district.

RAMPUR (Palpa), March 3: An Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) building has been constructed at Tham village of Sahalkot VDC – 8 which is located in one of the remotest parts of the district.


Japanese national, Iti Oko, donated Rs 300,000 for construction of the building. The Sahalkot VDC chipped in with Rs 55,261 while Rs 55,785 was raised among the locals who also contributed with labour donation. The building was constructed at a total cost of Rs 411,046.

The children of the village were forced to take an hour's walk to the nearest school every day, but now they can learn at the nearest childhood development centre.


Tul Bahadur Kanung, Chairman of ECDC in Tham, said the construction of the building equipped with modern facilities was successful with efforts from local residents, parents, intellectuals, social workers and the concerned stakeholders. RSS
