He is being taken to Bangkok for further treatment due to health problems he has been experiencing in the last few days. Leader Pun was treated at Sumeru Hospital in Lalitpur after he developed high blood pressure, vomiting and fever. CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had suggested to him to take necessary steps for further treatment as the amount of bile in his body has been too high.

Pun's personal secretary Santosh Pun has advised Chairman Dahal and other leaders to take him to Bumrungrad International Hospital in Thailand for further treatment. According to the doctors involved in the treatment, Pun has been suffering from a hereditary condition. Pun, who is also a former energy minister, is preparing to go to Bangkok again on Wednesday morning with his wife and former speaker Onsari Gharti Magar.
